1 mile from me
But what's going on with the front of the SV650S (generally speaking), between the forks and the fairing. It just doesn't like "right"

(I was knocked off a couple of tims).
Ultimately I'm only considering a road bike to avoid me being an even more clunky rider as and when I go off road biking abroad (which was the reason for me taking my test).
However, part of the appeal are the bikes themselves and I struggle to get excited about these older/less good looking bikes, although I appreciate that 7/10 of the performance "buzz" is there.
Moreover, how often I would actually ride the bike (no road biking mates, no commuting, risk of being throttled by mother if I appear for Sunday lunch on bike etc) is a moot point. It couldvery well end up taking up garage space, costing me insurance, road tax etc and do a few hundred miles a year.
This is why I'm doing my usual non-committal pondering

As Steven says, you really do need to get out and ride as much as you can early on - I was snowed under at work all summer, so it has only been the past couple of months that I have started to enjoy it properly.
You should get hooked once your riding comes together enough to be able to relax, and the more you relax, the better it gets, and so on.
(I don't much care for the looks of half faired bikes either, but guess it's just a personal thing - you don't have to look at it when you ride it though, and you'll enjoy it regardless - I should probably have bought something like that Suzuki instead of my viffer in retrospect)

Would love to be surfing for bikes tonight but decided to fit new motherboard and graphics card-all fitted in front of me but motherboard needs bigger power connector than existing PSU connectors so stick on the blackberry pending PCworld trip

Incidentally, you do need to practise regularly, specially when you are starting.
I got my first bike at the age of 10, now 32 years later I'm a fair weather biker (I would have never have believed that when I was 10!).
Even so, the first ride of the, whilst not a wobble, is defintiely not as fluid as the rides by the end of the summer.
It's tempting to get swayed by all the reviews, but even an SV650 will do sub 4 secs 0-60 and probably around 10 secs 0-100. Pretty rapid really.
I don't seriously expect you to buy my wife's but as a cheap starting point that doesn't commit too much money you won't go too far wrong.
I have a Ducati M900 and a ZX6R, both good bikes but I never cease to be amazed at how nice the SV650 is to ride.

what's the standard immobiliser on the R6 San?
For various reasons, I have ended up riding up to Brum from central London very late tonight. Left at 10pm. Stopped for half an hour, and arrived at 1am.

I said we'd talk about it in the morning.
Off to remove the icicles from my nose now. I need to get me some heated grips if I'm gonna be riding in these temperatures!
