think they are 45hp but a ton of torque. it is beautifully built and pristine.

something about that era of engineering for me. there are loads of cheap bits on my XSR by comparison but equally the engine is a peach and 75hp ish on top of loadsa grunt and 55mpg round the city..

the CRF is petroholic by comparison

correction.. on my last tank i got nearer 70mpg. this wet weather is easy on the pocket then but in the end i took Tues off as when i dropped my lad at school in my riding jeans I got biblically soaked.. so no pay that day. hard on the pocket. My gear has been in the washer more than out..

the CRF is getting some use testing in the shitty weather. the new nobblies are fine in the wet, it keeps my speed down compared to the XS so that's good (I think it'd top out at silly rpm in the 80s very low gearing).. currently i'm trying to prove it's reliabiity. the hot start cable is stickier than boris's palms so i might remove that and replace or try to lube up.. will whip the tank off and have a look. hoping to get a new jet kit at the bike show next month as it's running rich or lean or something

its a fun day out seeing what the makers are up to.. we slip under the radar of eco as edge cases.. or ed cases

Norton are supposedly ramping up but the bikes i have seen have been artwork rather than usable. i dont trust Triumph. Honda arent making anything i want.. the 450L was so crap i made my own

It's the samee as with cars. You're either in deep for 20k .... or it's a yawning chasm back to 75% of that and second hand with all the fun that brings.

I would need to be more than just bored to change what i currently have. Might buy something cheap for giggles .... but then there is a decent CB400SF here to play with

to me it highlights the lie of inflation.. i purchased a new CBR600RR from a dealer near leeds in 2008 for sub £7k

the R6 is now 12k..

i am more Norton Commander these days

Don't forget 20% VAT since 2011 doesn't help.

I am prepared to pay no more than 15k for a car and no more than half that for a motorbike. If that means 2nd hand then so be it.

i'd include that as inflation. so 5% yoy, if your pension is making that its breaking even..

its all a huge con imo.. houses stupidly expensive but so is everything else.

not that i want another superspirt.. amazing as they are. i could be tempted for the CB1000 but at the moment the XS is behaving very well
