Heated gloves / muffs and you'd be good with the cold. Its the salt and ice that puts me off

haha like it.. they are such comfy bikes, i could ride that XSR all day and the MTs are supposed to be a little more sit up i think. went to the bike show here last year and i honestly couldnt find a better fit for my use there regardless of budget.. a lot of people move to Ohlins but i reckon it's pretty well setup for my weight. Occasionally I'll get jarred by a massive pothole but i know where they all are now on my commute so less of an issue.. 4k miles and just a rear tyre so far and average just under 60mpg city commuting

Forget what I said, just realised you have a proper CRF haha....

Don't worry about CRF250M powering the grips, my mate runs heated grips, aux power, and a LED light bar on his. We checked his charging curcuit once when his battery was dying and the output dropped marginally when the grips were put on.

the 450 has a decent sized battery but i dont know what power it can kick out.. its a bit of a project this thing but waiting on one more part before its on the road.

installed a speedo which also monitors coolant temp and revs. I cant imagine riding a bike and not being able to see that. I understand they boil over as a warning

anyway, you cut the coolant hose and install a gauge mount, i did that and then i noticed it was overheating! arggh.. so i read how to bleed the system, you tip the bike low left, low right, low left and low right.. err, that's it. worked perfectly, temps fine.

it doesnt idle perfectly, i've tried a different needle in the carb but i'm shooting blind as to what i have.. you can basically pull them and raise the closed throttle position to richen it up but i'll pull the plug first. if i can get it halfway there i can get someone to set it up a bit nicer, at the mo riding on it every stop would be blip, blip, blip
