Whatever you get insist on ABS, the statistics showing a reduction in fatalities involving bikes equipped with it are amazing.

ABS is coming in as a requirement on all bikes.
Braking is a tricky thing to do on a bike. And if you snatch the front brake, like most would do in an emergency, you'll lock the front wheel and you'll fall off.
I do, however, believe in education and practice in addition to the technology.

I've spent time doing some heavy braking on the bike when the roads are quite, to try and get a feel for how it reacts and how much is too much. Not grabbing the clutch helps to reduce overall distance as well. My test examiner told me the Police riders are taught not to ever use the clutch when doing an emergency stop. Ever inch counts so they say

Went to see the new "XSR700" by Yamaha which is basically a MT-07. I love it! was going to be looking for a street triple this March, but will be getting a new Yam-Yam instead.

Wire wheels would look good but after running a few bikes with spoked wheels they are a nightmare to clean and even the highest quality spokes eventually tarnish. Those alloy ones would stay nicer for longer!

anyway.. i bought a CRF250M like that one up there today.. comes next week. triggered by a 63 minute 10km commmute trying to get home to pick my lad up from nursery. got there 5 mins before closing.
I lol'd at the crumble's reviews on youtube (of the L which has bigger wheels - it wont go off road)
