Forgot to update,
I now hold a full motorcycle license for those that commented on my "van-van" pic on the page prior! Dates went like this:
28/12/2014 Theory Test
13/1/2015 CBT
17/1/2015 4hr Training on 650cc bike
26/1/2015 Mod 1
30/1/2015 Mod 2
Looking forward to getting a bike in late March. Problem is I want about 5 different bikes.

Haha, I know what you mean. Seemed to get better the more I rode the bike, as I was not holding on as tightly!
The learning school (Phoenix Bristol) have taken it on board and are going to retro-fit heated grips to their bikes.

The second you start to get sore hands / wrists / arms you know you have been gripping the bars too tightly. Relaxed ( slightly bent) arms and shoulders are key. Frozen finger tips are just not fun and the thaw out is just as painful if not more so than the freezing process.
I refuse to take the bike out when it's as cold as it is, heated grips or not.
