Jim did indeed have one, however he's currently thrashing his R1 around Almeria.

I'll ping him an email once he's back and ask him for some feedback.

I do know that he used to think his RSV-R was fast. Until we had a proper thrash.

Now he has an R1

A friend of mine also has a 2003 RSV-R. He's a good 3 stone lighter the me, & can't stay with my 2000 R1 for top speed or acceleration. (My bike has had some work done to the engine)

Hi guys, I know nothing about motorbikes so wondered if you could help me.

My wife rides a 2008 Ninja 250R, in the 2 years she has had it it was serviced at 600 miles (about 3 months old) and hasn't been serviced since.

Its now on 1450 miles and nearly 2 years since its last service, if it were a car, id service it as its 12 months since last service... I am guessing this is the same with bikes.

The service book says it doesn't need a service till 7500 miles.

She is planning on selling the bike, do you think its worth servicing it before selling it?

How much would it be for a proper Kawasaki service do you think - and do you think it would add this price to the the bike?

Would it put you off buying a bike that hadn't been serviced in 2 years?

Cheers
Rob

Guys. Im in need of some new leathers and am after a nice 2 piece set. I don't want to spend a fortune on them (Maybe £500 tops) but have been searching and searching with not much luck. Im after a 2 piece as I'd like to get a few track days in this year and my current leathers only zip at the rear and are getting old. Im not a fan of 1 piece leathers. I understand they are designed with protection in mind and are ideal for track use and If I could afford both I would, but I can't. Basically Im after a few decent places to look in the south east or online.

Cheers

My CBR had done about 1300 miles in the first 6 years of its life (before I bought it) and had been serviced just the once according to the service book. I intend to change the oil on a annual basis to follow advice given in a bike mag I read recently (something I need to do this month) but get it serviced once every two years as I'm only doing 600-1,000 miles a year myself. Its service history is:

Bought by first owned September 2001

First free service (supposed to be 600 miles) August 2003 - 935 miles

Second service (shortly after I had bought it) April 2007 - 1278 miles

Third service (two years later) April 2009 - 3203 miles

Currently about 4,300 miles on the clock and I'll change the oil shortly.

Having said that, I bought mine on ebay and looked at its condition when I went to collect it rather than crawling over the service book.

Rob, I would worry too much, maybe just do an oil and filter change and be done with it

Here's just a couple of links from a quick Google -

Or

a good deal -

I'm a big fan of 2 piece leathers due to being able to take your jacket off if you stop somewhere.
