So would the S1000 be a bit of a performance increase from my just sold Honda Hornet 900 ?

The street triples do look really good, love some of the finishes they have on them. Haven't ridden one, but those who I have spoken to them love them!

There's an Aprillia open day coming up in 2 weeks...time to take that RSV4 out!

Got to test ride a Street triple R today and was very impressed. Sit up riding position is a little strange but what a great engine
I love mine

<-----

It's without doubt the best bike I've owned.

The riding position does seem odd at first but assuming you don't do either track days or touring makes perfect sense in the real world.

The engine is of course absolutely sublime.

We have the bike in the dealership for a few weeks but bad weather and the need to get customer bikes out has combined to delay the day I collected my S1000 RR Sport. Anyway yesterday was good, so my wife drove me down to Gloucester and I collected the bike. As you would doubtless expect a 47 mile ride home became a 110 mile detour. since this morning broke nice and sunny it was time to take a day off and work my way towards the first service at 600 miles.

A good run through Leominster, by passing Brecon and onto Llandovery and the West End Cafe where I had my first break. Then it was onto the scenic back roads through Cilycwm and onto Llyn Brianne where I took these photos:

Firstly, on the road up to the Lake (Llyn is lake in Welsh)

and then onto the lake itself:

I then followed the mountain road to Tregaron, onto Pontrhydfendigedaid and Devil's Bridge and then onto the A44 to Llangurig and then the A470 to Rhayader and the A44 again to Crossgates. A second cup of tea and i was on the A483 to Newtown and then back via Kerry, Church Stoke, the Ludlow bypass, over Clee Hill to Far Forest. 250 miles in all.

I would say in my defence that the RH side chicken strip was well reduced after the run up the A483!

All in all a most enjoyable days riding. The bike is a sweet handling bike. And so much grunt that it reminds you of the old adage that "you should only put your bike where your brain has already been" - its just that your brain needs to process the information a bit quicker than it's been used to.

If the weather is similarly good on Thursday then they'll be carrying out the 600 service on Friday so I can experience life without the 9,000 limit.

I thought this would be a great road bike and I was right.

New silverstone motogp circuit trackday for £99. I can't make it as I'm working, but I would snap it up otherwise.
