Bit of advice please...

Sold my S yesterday and was pretty sad to see it driven off by someone else! Have been looking at another bike again. My previous bikes, as per my sig, have all been Hondas (Hornet, 2 CBR F-sports, 954RR Blade) and I was thinking of the CB1000R as i've always like the naked bikes and Honda seem to make bikes that are easy to ride and build quality is certainly very good. But i have had for a long time a total love for the 916/996/998 Ducatis, a shape which although has aged a bit now there are newer models, but its just looks so right still.

Seen a mint 11k miles 2001 996 with lots of bits (Termi's, chip, power commander etc) and its not much over

I'd say if you've always wanted one - then do it.

If it's just passing thought then consider it for a bit longer!

Never owned one myself, but have experienced the ups and DOWNS of a friend's ownership

eSeM has had a Ducati, I'm sure he'll be here soon. . . .

Here is my VFR800fi

I put an RC51 Front end under it, with 954 calipers, a CBR929 adjustable rear shock.

I Powder coated a lot of stuff, jet coated the header and put a set of GSXR1000 mirrors and pipes on it. It's painted to match my old Ridgeline. Now its sitting in hibernation with my CR while I am in Afghanistan.

here's an in progress shot, and no, it wasn't wrecked, just got bored

To answer the above poster, my wife has a 9 y/o Ducati SS750 that even after 30k on it still runs great, it's all about the upkeep.

by it.. he honestly said that he really rated it. and money wasnt really a particular factor to him but as he races he wanted something that wouldnt cost him points.. he has broken it i believe. a few times. but he's a loon in fairness (he's broken himself many times)
