Bit of a tyre saga to be honest.

I'd not been a big fan of the Dunlops that were on it even on the road. They just didn't feel right.

Anyway did the first morning on the D's then had the set of Avon Viper extremes fitted that I took with me.

Much better for the first outing and then nearly highsided on the second go - not happy!! struggled through the rest of day 1 with my confidence low and generally had a less than average day.

Day 2 in the morning got Andy (one of the instructors) to have a tweak of the suspension (I'd felt the front was too hard) which he sorted out by doing some black magic stuff with a screwdriver?

The Avons and the bike felt a bit better, but I never really got the confidence back in them - so come lunchtime I binned the Avons and bought a set of Michelin Power One 2CT's (Track version, but road legal) and instantly felt better.

Placebo? Maybe, but I wasn't going to not enjoy the rest of the trip for the sake of some

Remember the slight squitty moment I had in Almeria on that right just before the start-finish?

The Avons were great up until that point, but after that I lost all confidence in them.

On a happy noise note - when Jim took my bike out and pinned it down the straight I was very pleased with the sound.

It's awesome

I'm really tempted by a post 06 R6. Or a GSXR750. The Yam would be easier as I could probably chop the R1 in easier.

True.

I had a go on a GSX-R 600 in Cartagena, K8 version (maybe??) - it felt tiny compared to the R1.

I think the 750 is about the same size.

I think you'd miss the extra grunt if you went back to a 600

Is it the same size as the baby ones?

I think you should meet up with us for a swap round.

Are you around tomorrow at all?
