I am quite keen to do some off-road stuff, but there appear to be no centres in Scotland that offer any, and I would probably be quicker flying to the Canaries!

How much did it cost you? I can't see anything on the site about prices.

Also, how fit do you think you need to be?

Price was Euro 130 a day to include everything.

You need to be reasonably fit. When we ride off road we spend virtually all the time stood up on the pegs because (a) you can see further ahead and (b) the bike is easier to turn - just weight the footpegs. This means that you need good leg, back, and shoulders strength and good core stability.

I'm surprised that there don't seem to be any places which offer off road experiences in Scotland. There are a few in Wales and the terrain is similar. Check with the Trail Riders Fellowship and see if they have any contacts.

I'd strongly recommend it for 2 reasons:

1. It's very god fun.
2. It will help your road riding.

Why 2? Well because you can't ride well off road if you are tense. Relaxation is key even when the front and rear wheels are sliding every which way. Relaxation is also key to on road riding.

I'm not entirely sure why there aren't off road experience type options in Scotland, but it may be partly or mainly due to the fact that we don't have "green lanes" up here.

130 euros sounds pretty good value to me - I'll need to get a bit fitter though I reckon

As it wasn't insured I rode it round the house a couple of times and a few goes up and down the drive way!

All parked up now in its own little stable at mum and dads!

The bike is really really loud.. Little video of me starting it up... The onboard microphone on the camera hasn't picked up any of the low frequency noises but you can hear the open clutch cover!

i pulled my first major wheelie yesterday. completely by accident. i missed my gear coming away from a set of lights (just revved it in neutral).. thought sh1t.. plugged it into first and twisted.. fook me

that put a smile on my face.. and a brown stain in my pants obviously.
