General Bike Whoring

Dan - it has been used though! It was new last July, and has either been used or charged fortnightly ever since!
I think I'll hav to buy a new battery regardless, but any idea to tell if something else has caused it, i.e. it becoming overcharged for some reason? Hmm...

Stick it in the shed.
Buy another new battery in March
When will I learn / get power to the shed?

Give it a jump and take it for a run (not too far from home, long walk!) and see how you get on.
Failing that, as San says, I'd try it on the other bike and see if it works any better.

I'd suggest giving it a good clean.
Oil the chain.
Leave it on paddock stands & plugged in to a trickle charger.
Should be fine

Thanks for the suggestions.
Had a better look at it all tonight. Borrowed a multi-meter from work, for some reason in the "10" setting on DC voltage it went off the scale, but it appeared to read about '6' on the "50" setting. Using that as a base, the TT600 read about the same, about 6.5, and my car battery read about the same. So, I did the following:
1. Tried to start VFR - FAIL
2. Jump start VFR from RUNNING TT600 - STARTS
3. Tried to jump start VFR from OFF TT600 - FAIL
4. Tried to start VFR by disconnecting VFR battery completely, jump leads from RUNNING TT600 straight to VFR leads - VFR kills TT600 Sad
So, i'm thoroughly confused. Local dealer gonna take a look at the battery tomorrow, but I don't actually think its that now - but quite what the hell it is I dunno! Something, somewhere, needs loads of power to start it, but I can't quite figure out what! Only thing I didn't try was putting this battery on the TT600, only cos its a big getting the TT600 battery out - I'm sure the dealer will try that tmrw anyway!
Any ideas?
