Track bike is so nearly MOT ready now!! Bled the front and rear brakes, 5.1 fluid up front and DOT 4 for the rear (don't use it on track), also some uprated HH sintered pads for the front. By the way, is brake fluid on the tyres bad news? I rubbed some snow over the spill on the tyre (didn't have any water to hand) but just wondering if its likely to do any lasting damage?! Don't fancy a blowout at speed!!

Also got the rear brake light working - you guys were right, it was the switch behind the pedal that needed adjusting!

Just gotta figure out why the hell neither rear indicator is working - I'm not much of an electrical expert, so that one has got me stuck!!

Potentially silly question - do you need wing mirrors for an MOT? If so, I better go find them...

I'm pretty sure you don't, but ring a garage first to check.

You don't need mirrors. I think the only legal requirement is that you have a rear reflector. You don't need indicators or a headlamp. But if you don't have front and rear lights then the MOT Certificate will be stamped "Daylight Use Only". If your bike is track use only then mirrors are a waste of time. If you're going to ride it on the road then I would fit them.

It's predominantly a track bike but I will be using it on the road too, mainly to ride to and from local trackdays and the odd trip down to Ace Cafe!!

I don't think you do need mirrors, but will call up to check!
