"Funny" story relating to disc locks.
The disc lock I got for the Harley (The XN14) Has a 14mm bolt, which sadly is thicker than the holes in the front disc, but it does fit the rear.
However, now I've had a some panniers fitted, I can't actually get to the rear disc any more
There is an option to get an attachment which allows it to be used with a chain, but as the bike has a factory fit alarm/immobiliser I'm not sure if it's worth all the trouble.

no fecker will lift it on to a van and as there is only a 1 in 5 chance it will actually start i think its quite safe

Any advice on good security for the bike. Someone mentioned that an Oxford chain would be a good idea and something about a disklock?

So how many miles did we all clock up this year?
I managed just bit under 3k which considering I don't do any touring or other long distances I'm quite pleased with. I've really bonded with the Street Triple, there's really not much to criticise about it

(and 2 services, 1.5 sets of rubber )
On the downside, I have probably done less than 1,000 miles in the S in the same period

The 8,000 includes 3 x 1,200 mile north highland tours.
The rest is weekends where I head up north to my folks - 400 mile round trip so it mounts up (200 miles of dull fast A road...... but the other 200 is one of the best biking/driving routes in the country so can't complain )
I tend not to go for saturday/sunday blasts in the summer really - roads too busy or not that much fun locally - much better to save it up for a long weekend in the far north a few times a year.
I'm still looking for something more touring orientated for the "dull fast A road" though (the Viffer gives my knees grief if I am not moving around on the bike), but waiting until I get another year's NCB.
