Thanks guys, Daytona 675 at the moment, it changes daily

Had a sit on my mates 600 RR which was nice and still like the r6. Seen some nice r6's at the local dealer but they want close tio 6 g's for a 2 year old bike.

Thanks pal,

Just can't wait to go looking at the weekend, but more important, some good leathers are first on the shopping list.

Any advice on good security for the bike. Someone mentioned that an Oxford chain would be a good idea and something about a disklock?

A chain is only as good as what you fasten it to - if the bike is being kept at home, make sure you have a decent ground anchor. Ideally, it should also pass through the frame (impossible on my bike, and no doubt many others).

You can spend between

Have a search on youtube for a video of some guy breaking a whole load of chains, eye opening how poor some of the supposedly good ones are.

I haven't bothered with an alarm on my new bike. Frankly they are a PITA largely due to the afore-mentioned battery drain reason, and having seen how easy it was for Mr RAC man to bypass the supposedly top of the range alarm-immobiliser on my last bike, without so much as a squeak from the alarm, there doesn't seem much point. I do wonder about getting a flashing led from Maplin mind you.

"Funny" story relating to disc locks.

The disc lock I got for the Harley (The XN14) Has a 14mm bolt, which sadly is thicker than the holes in the front disc, but it does fit the rear.
However, now I've had a some panniers fitted, I can't actually get to the rear disc any more

There is an option to get an attachment which allows it to be used with a chain, but as the bike has a factory fit alarm/immobiliser I'm not sure if it's worth all the trouble.
