I was planning on just riding it over there and then either getting the train back or a one way hire car

BTW, I decided against any new bike due to a difference of 2000 pounds in insurance quotes.
Maybe next year.

It is, but it's hell of a lot easier than riding it to the airfield and then getting the train which would be about 60 quid in itself. For me, the time saved is worth the cost, but I agree it is a lot of dosh to just pick a bike and kit up.

There'll be 3 or 4 of us going, so hiring a car between us shouldn't be too expensive
