Anyone ever ridden a KTM 990 Adventure?
I'm not having much luck finding another VFR at a sensible price, so am considering casting the net a bit wider.
KTM would be fun on the bumpier back road stuff as well as coping with the A road stuff I do - bit wary of reliability though as my nearest dealer is 40 miles away.
K1200S worth a test too I think if they'll let me - performance might be a bit wasted on me though, and the reliability a slight concern.

It's reliable and very economical and pretty easily maintained, belt drive, parallel twin so only two spark plugs, etc.

I have thought about the F800, but have heard it's a tad anodyne - when I went to the local dealer last year, one of the mechanics satnding in for a salesman said as much
Very subjective though, and I might like one.
I did, however, get a few hours on a K1200S today. Very, very impressive bit of kit indeed (and I couldn't even take it much over 4k revs as it had only 19 miles on the clock).
Provided I can be sensible enough with the silly amount of power, a used one vs a new VFR is a bit of a no-brainer really.

On a different note, Honda really are going from bad to worse in terms of Fireblade styling:

(I thought you were doing DAS?)
Had a few 125 lessons (3 or 4) then 4 500 lessons over the last 3 months.
Really thought I'd stuffed the test, but it turned out ok with 3 minors. Rode much better on my lesson yesterday.
