General Bike Whoring

SV1000 is an option as is VFR. A few others are tempting to look at too - Triumph speed triple and maybe a Monster S4R.
I think bandits/fazers might be a bit too primitive after the other two in the chassis department (the monster might be powered by a tractor engine but the cycle parts are top notch.)
I've really got to get my head round what exactly I want (as oppsed to heart ). I went to a Honda dealer today and gravitated instantly to the new CBR600RR, despite saying I didn't want a sports bike The tinyness and lightness really appeal. But I really do think in reality I want something in between the two I have.
One of the issues I have with my ZX6R is you need to really be "on it" to get the best out of it - being a bit older it's handling is pretty hard work to get the best of it. Whereas the Monster is a doddle to ride slow or fast.
I'm going to test ride the CBR, VFR, Speed Triple (and maybe a 675 Daytone while I'm at it) and a Monster S4R (and SV1000 if I can find one) to start with and see if I can at least find the sort of thing that's going to suit.
And then probably end up on a Blade
Thanks for all the suggestions so far.

Damage to the bike's rep seems to have already been done though

Honda always persevere and get it right...
The original VFRs had terrible cam chain tensioner problems and also bizarre enclosed front disk brakes, that didn't...nevertheless they stuck with it and it became the great bike we all know and love.
So I'm sure they will have sorted out the glitches.
In all seriousness I'm seriously leaning towards a Blade now. For me there have been a few icons in biking I have always wanted. Bikes that have changed the face of biking, and the Blade is one. This will almost certainly be my last major bike purchase for some time, what with a week old baby in the house so why not...
I'd like an 06/07 but that might be a stretch, although I've seen brand new RR6s for 7.5 without looking hard.
Otherwise if going used I'd probably go for an '02 or'03.
I think the gruntiness of the motor plus typical Honda real world usability coupled with true sports bike ability atcually might tick a lot of boxes.
Does anyone know good places for cheap new bikes in South East/South Mids? And is there a new parellel import market?

Yes, but I think weather will be shite.
I have our Architect coming round at 5.30 for hopefully not more than 30 mins - do you want to head up to mine or meet up somewhere else?
