Dunno, the cat and ace never quite appealed. I test rode a cat some years ago and didn't really get on with it.

I wish you hadn't mentioned a CBR600, I miss my old one so now thinking about a new one which wasn't the plan at all

how about the fully faired sv1000 looks nice, lots of torque, supposedly reasaonably laid back for touring. fast enough. if i hadnt gone for the bike below i would have got one of these

i have a 600f which i love - comfy for rider and pillion, in real world road conditions as quick as anyother 600cc sports bike, 100 mph/8000 rpm doesnt make it the best tourer......

been thinking about selling but can't really decide what i'd replace her with... well i do but i'd never get insurance without a garage!

If you're thinking of sv1000s, the fazers and bandits of the world are an option too.

though the fazer and banits are more sit up and beg style, say like the 900 monster whereas the sv1000 is more sports oriented though not to the same extent as say a 998 or 4 pot jap litre bike.

Sports Tourers? VFRs, etc? They're quite nice bikes actually. Could consider one myself if I decide to do more 2 wheel commuting in the future.
