That tyre depth and a tad of wet weather is the biggest recipe for a puncture Euan .
Wilst talking punctures , do you guys carry them roadside plug kits and air cartridges ?
If you dont , they are worth their weight in gold , easy to use and will go for the rest of the tyres life , even though instructions are not too

It seems not - better safe than sorry, so will have to ring round a few places tomorrow.

Just got 2 new tyres on the ZX6R.
I tend to square off tyres too, largely as a result of commuting...
The difference in the handling is amazing, it no longer tips into slow bends or feels vague in high speed bends.
I'm in love with its handling again and the Ducati is sitting sulking in the garage...
Still love the Duke's motor and easyness to ride so it will get its fair share of runs

some people are a danger to themselves.!
riding home last night was behind a guy on a 05 r1. not doing anything silly mind.
but unless there is a new rust coloured chain lube / chain wax out there it looked like his chain must have been left in the rain without use since he bought it.
(or am i just very anal about keeping my chain nice and oiled! )

have had tyres wear out or low on tread mid trip, and normally, just find the nearest tyre shop and get them to change the whole tyre.

I take it running 1 to 1.5mm tread depth on the thin central grooves is not a good idea? (they are unsurprisingly squared off).
Had a trip up north planned for tomorrow, but hadn't really checked my rear properly until this evening

unlike a car when a percentage of the tyre is allowed to be bald, this is not true for a bike.
So if any part of the tyre is below the legal minimum, its an MOT failure with similar views from the police who of course may dish out 3 points etc
1mm anyway is feck all, especially in wet weather.
