I would think you'd find riding the Kwaka again a big difference over your R1 - best keep your memories intact I should think.

Probably right.
But I just felt so confident on it - great front end stability - the only bike I've ever worn the sides of a front tyre out before the middle on. That was without any trackdays either

Ducati Aylesbury are ok ( aka http://www.onyerbike.net/) . they have grown quite large - also own onyertriumph in Aston Clinton - and have heard the level of service has dropped. that said, they are one of the biggest dealerships in the country now and always plenty of good deals on offer.
personally i don't like Ducati's - too small, too much fuss. The MV is a much nicer bike - and onyerbike have some nice examples of this at the mo too. - they have a cracking pre-reg 06 F4S1000 marked down from
