No where near enough. Very low miles, fair weather only.

I keep wondering about ditching it and getting a Caterham.
Me either - fair weather too (mostly).

With my old R1 I did 9,000 miles in 1 year (that included the bike being unused for about a month in the summer).

Then I got the 04 one, I ran it in within 6 days of picking it up (well, 600 miles) - I was out in some really shitty weather - but I was going away the following weekend and needed the service carrying out.

I did 3,000 miles that year.

2005 I did 1,000 miles

and 2006 I managed 2,000.

This year I intend to do more

Yes I'm doing similar miles.

I'm feeling old now and the 916 bloody kills me.

I fancy a track day car now but I do have a soft spot for the big retros like a CB1300.

The S is a great trackday car

Which means you can get the CB1300 as well

You're right it is.

I had a little go at donnington last year but only lasted two sets of three laps because the brakes faded.

I didn't go with the intention of taking out the S because a group of us were using Book a Tracks Caterhams plus a mates TVR. Predictably the TVR went west and I used his slot in the afternoon with no preparation.

No not planning to.

I won't be taking the S on track much. It's immaculate (35000 miles) and I've had it all 7 years from new. I'd rather get something else to track or hire like the BAT caterhams.

Fair enough, more expensive that way, but I guess if something goes wrong. . . .
