thing that scares me about wheelies is that the front wheel wont be straight when it goes back down.

i dont mind the wheel coming up 3 or 4 inches but i can't say i'd want the front end at 45 deg!!
Keep the bars straight then

Give it time and you will feel more comfortable with the wheel coming up

It feels like the wheel is much further off the ground than it actually is as you have the fork extension first before the wheel lifts

yeah, but i got one arm longer than the other

i agree, though im sure half the time once the forks have unloaded the tyre is only a mm off the road!!

what looks more fun is getting the back wheel of the ground during braking....

imagine balance needs to be spot on for that one!

I have done rolling stoppies before, but I don't like it when the back wheel slams back down - so I don't do them any more

I will get it on that recommendation.

So does the rear swing arm just sit on it? Or are there screws/other fastenings?
yes the swing arm sits in the brackets,i put some foam pads inside the u section that the swing arm sits in just to stop it scratching

i could put my bike(gsxr600) onto this stand on my own with ease

edit....(dan got your email about track day im trying to make it ill let you know as soon as i can )

There's a how-to guide to wheelies, stoppies among tips on cornering, overtaking etc in this month's bike.

(I'm still working on the cornering bit )
