Note:
If you plan to use one of these accutire low pressure indicator valves (tell you if the pressure has dropped by more than 1-2 psi), ensure it clears the caliper when the wheel is rotated
I fitted one this morning, and merrily set on my way north.
After about 35 miles on the motorway and some "interesting" behaviour when changing lanes which I thought was the high winds and my top-box, I noticed the bike understeering worse than a Series 3 Landrover at a couple of roundabouts at Perth.
Pulled over to check the steering, and then noticed a very flat rear tyre The accutire valve check thing had been chewed up by, presumably, hitting the caliper, and subsequently buggered up the valve insert and let the air out.
RAC turned up pretty quick, and after scrounging a new valve from a local Honda car dealer I was on my way again.
Next 140 miles proved less eventful - much nicer to have a bike that goes around corners

It was OK yesterday - enough of a weather window to get up here. Supposed to be stormforce winds in early hours of tomorrow morning in Edinburgh and Glasgow though. It is meant to clear for later tomorrow and tuesday.
I discovered on the VFR forum that this happened a lot when these valve things first came out - due to the CBS on the Honda, the rear disc and caliper is larger than on other bikes apparently, hence long valve stems or caps being a problem for only certain bikes. The valve pressure check thing I discovered is designed to let air out slowly if it is damaged, which I guess is why it did not deflate straightaway - it must have broken as soon as I set off.

Just pulled the speedo to bits on my bike. Went back OK but I'll have to wait a couple of days now to test it.
Did some miles fall off too?
