The other car has 6x 130W auxilliary lights at the front and a 130W work light to the rear, plus a HUGE HGV spec rear fog.

I also have a PA facility on my CB radio.

I do wish that I had a .50 Cal machine gun though, some times...

I used to have a celica GT4 which looked really cool with sidelights and foglights on....

or so i thought when i was 22!

never got done but it's nothing to do with road safety...not the sort of thing that was drummed into my head, or would have stayed there had it been.

i know better now
(but is there some sort of foglight envy thing going on here...with none on the S? )

I used my rear fog today as the rain had reduced visibility. Seems pretty sensible to me.

I find it quite amusing when you see a tool driving a car with the front fogs on (clearly he considers them to be sports lights) and one of the fog light bulbs has failed. I saw a black Merc with precisely that problem yesterday.

Mercs have a system where with steering input the respective fog light comes on to help illuminate the turn / edge of road.

It is legal but looks very odd .....

It can de disabled by the owners but most don't even seem to know their car is doing it

I am sure many people think I have fog lights on when I have side lights on/

In the Cayman the Side lights and Fog lights are both inside the lower front light. They just have separate bulbs which confused me when I first had the car and had to double check the manual to confirm this.

Also the fog lights operate on a 2 position setting for rear first then front second and only when dipped headlights are engaged.

My '72 Lincoln Continental Mark IV has cornering lamps - when the headlights (auto-dipping!) are on and the indicators are used, the respective cornering lamp in the wing of the car is activated to illuminate the corner.

Alas only good for <3 mph maneuvers as the 20w bulbs aren't that bright...

Can you see the person in front or behind just using normal lights?

If so, then you don't need fogs.

Fog lights in nose to tail traffic is awful.

I've had my car with fogs for over a year and not once have I needed the front fogs and I do 20k miles a year.
