Fifth Gear

I really can't stand fifth gear. Tabloid trash as far as I'm concerned.
Surely drifting or teaching how to do 'the perfect handbrake turn' goes some way to influence the "yoof" on how they should behave down the High Street on a Saturday night?!

Not interested in "how sideways" it goes. I want to know the price the performance, the drive and what its like to live with, not difficult.

I was interested in the comparison with Used Car Roadshow which was on straight afterwards.
Fith gear full of cr*p apart from the review of the TT which I think is quite a good car and is on my list of possible next cars.
Used Car Roadshow - interesting and informative. Bloke they were sourcing an auction bargain for was a complete to**er, but apart from that a good show, full of facts.

Anyone watch?
Firstly let me tell you what I think of that oaf who drove the TT (Bentley?). He makes me cringe, everytime he talks abot cars he has to use as many 'blokisms' as possibel and he just cant do cool. He would be far better off reviewing the latest BIOS settings in a PC mag. What did he tell me about the car, sod all in reality like he always does. Apart from you have to have a bit of bling....to**er.
Now moving onto the next complete waste of bandwidth that scary looking bloke in the concept car. 3 mins for that sketch was even too much for him to handle. What are thinking of, do theyt not have people who write and edit and style the show? 3 mins of prime time w*nking around some cones, is this the best they can really do?
Now, its not all bad. Tiff is still THE best driver on TV. To see him drifting that datsun with a dustbin size turbo on was pretty funny, even more so in the wet...then it broke twice which is perfect. For anyone who wants to criticise try writing with your opposite hand which is effectively what he had to do, i.e go around the track in the least efficient way possible. The other sketch with the bike vs support vehicle was pants, obvious what would happen in reality when a diesel X3 meets an enduro bike.
Now dear Vicki. Can you stop squeaking love? It used to be funny, it used to be nice but now it is just annoying. I knwo you can drive and I know you are a woman, can we leave these facts behind and not suggest that its something odd in this day and age? The Ford mini transit sport was not interesting. If I wanted to know about people carriers then I would buy what people carrier monthly as it is I dont.
I was taught that if you have little to say nice about someone then say little about them. Jason Plato. C*ck.
Fifth gear is/has always been/will always be a pale rip off of Top Gear. It tried to be serious with the road safety stuff, then it tried to buy cars and re-visit the early TG years. The program is lost, they nee to shed everyone bar Tiff and Vicki and get some personalities in there. Pronto.

I think needle needs to take some lessons from tsuchiya on drifting.
Don't normally watch Fifth Gear but for some reason I did the other night. I think all the motoring shows are a load of , it's just that Top Gear is more classy and manages to be entertaining. A serious motoring program would be dull as dishwater, have about 50 viewers and would have to be shown at 3 in the morning.

I think that there needs to be a new show with exciting cars. Think EVO on TV, and mix a bit of Best Motoring with it.
Nobody wants to see a review of a 1.4 diesel Citreon C2... car geeks do want to watch a hot hatch battle, or super saloons etc. But instead of doing the dullest reviews like 5G, where they go sideways round a track... do a real road review and a bit of track / runway like TG.
