Fiat 500 Arbarth - test drove 1 yesterday
Not as fun as the S2K but i can honestly say it put a smile on my face!
The girlfriend was test driving normal 500's, the dealer saw i looked bored so chucked me the keys to the scorpion badged one.....what can i say? Big grin on face! It's not the same as a VTEC grin but the little turbo charged 1.4lt can't half boot and the grip was excellent round the little Kent country lanes. Pretty satisfactory exhuast note too.
If i had to buy little run around and had 12k to spare, this little front wheel drive would get my vote!
Reminded me of xr3i's and gti's...just more power!

They would do; there is a specific size/mass at which a car remains fun to drive and over which is seems to turn into a refined barge.
Since cars seem to have expanded so rapidly over the last decade, one must downsize at least one segment in order to get back to something reasonable.
Over two decades, going from a C to a sub-B is probably about right for a 'hot hatch' type car.

I saw the essesse version at the show room but didn't drive it. For the extra 3 grand for 30 bhp more....hmmm, think i'd have to drive it but would porb agree.
I would say go and drive the arbarth if you were looking to buy a super mini!
