Default F1: German Grand Prix

Hi all,
well here we are again, I am going to offer my opinion and go out on a limb and claim that Lewis Hamilton will monster everyone at the German grand prix, I think his confidence will be so high after Silverstone that he will be at the top of his game, and I think the top of his game is in a different league than all the other current drivers ... can't wait! Of course I could be proved wrong, but that's the beauty of F1, nothing is certain.

Raikonnen on the top of his game will MONSTER Hamilton

Seriously would love to see a battle between these two this weekend.

Aren't the Ferraris better suited to this track ? Any chance of rain ? If it's dry I might put a fiver down on Raikkonen to win.

First practice in a minute.

Just reading that Red Bull have confirmed Vettel for next year, and ruled out Alonso.

I think Alonso is going to Ferrari. If Raikkonen decides to stay I think Massa will make way for Alonson.

Would love to see that line up - two of the fastest and most individual drivers (opposite ends of the spectrum) in the two Ferrari's - would love to see that.

Would Alonso go to Ferrari though ? It was fairly clear from his Mclaren days that he wanted to be team number 1, I don't think Raikkonen would put up with any of that nonsense.

IMHO Alonso must seem too emotional for a major team to risk taking him on. The shenanigans at Maclaren must have resulted in him being seen as not being a team player.

I think you could see Alonso at Honda or BMW net year, as both seem to be very far into KERS development.

Unfortunately I can see the potential for some serious injuries from the system, as this is the first time an F1 car has had a battery in it.

I was thinking Honda - they're accustomed to paying out large driver salaries for little result. Barichello has been around a while, and seems to be worrying about continuing to have a drivers seat (post race interview (at IIRC Silverstone) alluded to this). Only thing is that his 2008 performance has been better than Button's.

I am not sure its an Alonso 'emotional' thing, I think Alonso will go to Ferrari, I expect Kimi to either move to another team (unlikely) or retire (more likely) or Massa will be 'moved on' (even more likely) - but either way I expect Alonso to be in a Ferrari 2010 I believe Red Bull know this too hence they couldn't go with the deal that Alonso would want, ie driving for them until his post becomes available at Ferrari in 2010 - then again who really knows.
