More cack from ITV, apparently the wind caused Hamilton to go off in his first qualifying. Funny how the team radio were advising him not to overdrive

All a bit wierd really. Like Brundle said it looked like Hamilton just got the line wrong into the corner, and the next lap he was far too cautious.
Heikki was 0.5 seconds up on Webber (what did he have for breakfast?), so you have to reckon Hamilton would probably have been thereabouts.

Good call on the tyres from Blundell - think that will make the difference tomorrow.
Glad to see Heikki get some recognition at last as well. He's been on the pace all season but been mired with bad luck.

He was fantastic today, half a second quicker than the rest, but in all reality I think his title chances are well and truly dead and buried this season, plus Webber did a fantastic job, but it will be interesting to see his fuel load.
I thought it was good advice from Ron to Hamilton on the team radio to not over drive, having already made an error on his first fast attempt the last thing you want is to be in 10th place on the grid. I'm sure they are more than happy with 4th given the circumstances.

Apparently Massa had a wheel nut problem preventing him from putting in a second lap in Q3, though Ferrari seemed strangely off the ultimate pace in Q2 as well as Q3.

Is it just me, or is qualifying better than the actual race these days?
