Massa's car was certainly a handful!

I felt quite sorry for mark webber. After his spin he was heading backwards down the straight at what ever speed with a whole load of F1 cars coming towards him at full speed and no safe direction he could spin it in to get facing the other way without being hit by the oncoming cars!

I have to say it was one of the most exciting grand prixs for a long time.

When will the FIA et al understand that reducing aerodymanic grip is the way forward for making exciting racing.
Agreed. Unbelievable to think that we might not have a GP race like that after 2010.

What about Massa though? He was in a similar situation facing oncoming traffic but he elected to spin the car whilst they were still coming towards him. Just imagine if he had over-cooked it. Hamilton did drive well but Ferrari are definitely missing Ross Braun, it would have been interesting to see what would have happened if Kimi chose to replace the tyres.

Whilst driving to work this morning the rain was torrential and visibilty wasn't great and I was thinking that at 70-80mph this is bad but just imagine driving in similar conditions at 180mph without any traction control and windscreen wipers.

Guy deserves it IMHO.

I'm all for taking photos of the cars andt hings as they happen, but leave the guy alone whilst he's getting ready to race eh?

And yes, if Hamilton did that, i'd back him up also

Raikkonen is absolutely awesome. Only guy on the grid who doesn't give a stuff about how he is perceived by the media.

He became more likeable in my opinion after his "I was having a shit" comment at IIRC the Schumacher tribute.

Anyone know who Raikkonen slapped about on the grid at Silverstone?

EDIT: Ah, just caught up with the previous page. Top stuff.

There is less grip in the wet, making machinery less important. There is no traction control now either. I don't think the Ferrari had anything to do with Massa and Raikkonen's spins.
I get the feeling they must have done something at daft like run the tyres or the ride height too low at the back. The car just didn't seem to cut through deep water at all.

I'd blame the shitty Bridgestones if it wasn't for the fact they're all running them!

I loved the race, I loved the qualifying. and I like to see Hamilton doing well.

but I think his performance was a step ahead of anything the current field can do. I also loved that Rubens had such a great race but wish he had finished 2nd which would have been a more representative result for his call/gamble with the tyres.

a decade ago we could only have dreamt about a 3 way tie at mid season.
