Yep. Had he got the fuel he was due, he'd have won the race by miles. He was 30 seconds a lap faster than the rest at one point!

Hamilton's team did their job, as did he. I don't think there was anythign astonishing about what he did, but it was a good drive. I don't think he did anything that Heidfeld of Barichello didn't, but the car was definitely the class of the field.

Well done to him.
He drove a good race. However Raikkonen was catching Hamilton at nigh on a second a lap before his first stop. If Raikkonen had replaced his tyres it would have been a closer race. Not saying he could have done anything about Hamilton, but it would have at least been a race.

I haven't altered my prediction. It's still Raikkonen's title to lose.

But fair play to Hamilton today!

Blimey, there were nearly some gracious views there, he was up to 6 seconds a lap faster than anyone else on the same tyres, he finished the race 60+ seconds in front of the nearest opponent, he was a class above anyone else driving today. Rubens made a good gamble with the tyres, and using the extremes he had some advantage, and nothing to lose, can't really compare the two. But the rest of the pack including kimi were miles away, Hamilton was stunning today and in a completely different league.

If I wasn't before, I am now a fan, it was great to see.

Kimi was lapped, how far back is that ?

PS Mike, I wasn't just talking about your 'gracious' views

I suppose getting the Hamilton haters to admit that he was quite good, but nothing special is almost progress and about the closest thing to objective we'll ever get.

Interesting that that level of skill doesn't necessarily show itself in 99% of races, but in the right conditions one driver can be so far above everybody else.

It wasn't just the tyre change that scuppered Raikonnen. Raikonnen (and Kovaleinen) were lapped at the end after changing tyres. That would never have happened if they had the pace.

Of course not, he was only consistently 4 seconds a lap faster than all the others on intermediates, kept it in on the black stuff, unlike most of his major competitors, and won by over a minute.

Nothing outstanding there.

I see a lot of "He did well, but...."

It's a start I guess

Hamilton was better this weekend - in the post race news conference. He drove a good race and he didn't wax lyrical about himself too much etc etc, the very points that have been pi$$ing me off for the 1st half of the season.

His father, however, is still a class A c0ck IMHO. All in front of the cameras now that his son has won a race again. Next race where Lewwis screws it royally I want to see him get grilled by the press to the same degree he brags about his son's efforts on screen.
