F-Type

agree entirely, I am sure they know their market better than I do, guess I am just a little disappointed that I am not invited to the party.
Off topic, but I've been driving the 6 a little more last few weeks, what a machine!

But the market doesn't work like that.
The Jagwar is far bigger, heavier & more refined and should be thought of as a more exclusive alternative to the common German GT cars.
Don't worry about the XK - it will move farther upmarket.
Brand/marketingwanker-wise, it's correct. Jaguar needs to improve its upmarket image first, before re-engaging hoi polloi-market with another D-segment struggle buggy.

When you consider that a specced up R32 Golf is nudging 48k all of a sudden the F-Type doesn't seem such bad value. Of course to anyone with 1/3rd of a full brain, the Golf is massively overpriced even before you start adding options but that's a different story.

Agreed, those VW options are beyond a joke
If they're aiming squarely at 911 then its a bargain i guess? I agree Nick that the base 911s are nobs cars, the new one also recieves luke warm reviews in even the interesting models too.
Anyway, they weigh 1600kg which is on the heavy side for me, my Butchered rep mobile with a big engine weighs less i think? I think a Cayman S is in the 1400kg region which still sounds a bit heavy for that car...
Slimfast all round then

I saw a new Jizz in my local Onda dealer with a sticker in the window saying 17,495... it looked like a new car to me, but assume this was the mileage of the car? I didn't enquire as to how much they might want to sell it for.
New car prices have rocketed, but then very few buy cars these days, hire purchase and minimal monthly payments is where it's at. innit.

Configured at £70k new it will be £45k give or take when two years old and still with a year's warranty. Best wait another year or two's models for them to fix any software and FREDs they got slightly wrong. At least they will fix them, unlike the Munich menschen.

I still don't think a base price of 58k is bad considering Honda wanted 30k for an original S2000. Given what some paid for the original car and promptly spent on upgrades ( Snails ) the F-Type out of the box is still a fair price.
That said I won't be spending 58k, 70k or 90k on one - primarily because I don't have the money to spend and if i did, I couldn't justify spending former house money on a car that will be worth 1/3rd of that value after 3 years.
