Evo X (second car options)
Hi All,
So now that I am moving closer to work (down from 120mile round trip to a 45mile), I am starting to plan my next car.
Currently I own a MB6 Honda Civic (Daily) and my MY05 S2000 (Weekend).
Plan is to keep the S2000, but use as a daily and then get an Evo X as a weekend toy.
This will not happen any time soon, but hopefully within the next 12 months. I like to plan ahead and know what I'm saving towards.
Specs I am after would be Manual and FQ300 (To be tuned up) unless FQ360 comes up at a similar price.
Initial research reveals the auto gearboxes are not as good as the manual.
Looking for any feedback from people who may have owned Evo's in the past, and more specifically Evo X's. Any specific Do's and Dont's?
All feedback / comments welcome.

You need to go out in one really.
They're nowhere near as bad as people make them out to be.
Friend of mine has the FQ300 SST model, off the mark and acceleration to 70-80 odd is brilliant as is the all round grip and the brakes. The gear changes when you're on it are very quick. He's had his now for over a year done 15k or so miles and all he's had to do is replace the front discs and 2 services.
They're just a bit flat after 80 odd and could do with 400bhp to feel quick.
Don't forget devastating road tax aswell.

Its as bad as it gets
They are what they are, i looked at subarus years ago, tons of lag, loads of whistles and sqawks, low rent interior but bang for buck is there.
Hated it myself so have never looked since.

I can't comment on the evo x,but a friend had an evo 6 rs.and I was hugely impressed with its performance for a stock car, from a standstill it just propelled you up the road,it felt a hell of a lot faster than it actually was.but was still quick.
The only thing he moaned about was fuel..but I put that down to it been his first performance car and always getting giddy when he jumped in it.
Think he went through a clutch, and a few droplinks and other bits in first year.
Drives an Audi a4 estate now and reckons he has never looked back haha
Oh yeah did I mention he's a tight sod :-)

What's devastating? Is that 500 quid? I don't see that as bad. Maybe it's just me.

Don't know about the Evo X but my mate has owned an Evo 8 MR FQ-400 from new and it is without doubt the fastest thing I've been in, it's so much fun for scaring the pants off people. Bit laggy but that just prepares you for the boost which pins you to the seat! I need one!
