Default Donington - New Plans

New circuit plan for Donington here http://www.donington-park.co.uk/file...aster_plan.pdf

Looks like it'll be really good fun, up and down the hill twice. Any of the experienced track guys got any thoughts?

I like that, they've kept all the good bits and the new section looks interesting.

The Esses will be no more and the Dunlop straight will now be very long indeed. The GP circuit will be a bit of a brake killer.

The National circuit will have a short straight at Goddards rather than the right-left-right it is now.

Building a whole new pit complex after all the money they spent on the old one won't be an easy pill to swallow.

New bits look interesting, hope that it doesn't wreck coppice.

I like it.

Retains the existing character of the track and the new bit looks very interesting.

When is this planned to be complete?

2010 is the date for the F1 race, so presumably by then. Let's hope they don't employ Multiplex, the Wembley contractors.

Looks good.

Expensive though.... could be a white elephant.

Looks like it should be interesting to drive.

The pit straight will be hard on the brakes, but no worse than Rockingham I guess.

I like the elevation changes at Donington, this adds more which is a good thing and the ability to section off the circuit into 3 seperate layouts like Bedford is good as it keeps the cost down for club racing (Silverstone Club circuit is dull as ditchwater, this looks to be better).

If the finished article looks like this (and is on time) then it should be a good place to drive.

I always enjoyed that chicane, so I'd miss that.

I heard that a couple of the senior people have walked out.

Although it looks good, it'll probably be too expensive for me to ever drive there
