Do motorbikes aquaplane ?

A tyre aquaplanes at 9X sq root of the pressure. So an S at 55mph or so, and my bike (45psi ish) 60mph. Obviously has to be standing water! My push bike, 120 psi, 98mph! Better get peddling!

This is the pressure between the tyre and the road. It is nothing to do with the tyre pressure.

As a bike has a very small contact patch the pressure between the road and the tyre is high and therefore the speed at which you would aquaplane will be very high.

I would expect it to be well in excess of 200MPh

No, its the tyre pressure, which is the same as the pressure on the road.

We did this subject a few months back.

EDIT: Hydroplaning from Wiki

The formula you quote above relates to aeroplanes when a plane comes into land i.e. it is not on the ground and therfore exerts no pressure on the ground.
