Clearly bollox in most cases.

Given your wording it (quite rightly) got shouted down?

yeah but it's the fact that some female reproductive organ - or several of them in reality - had the gall to try and get away with it!

One of the guys at work left his keys in the igniion when filling up (stoopid fecker), his car got pinched. Initially the insurers wouldn't pay out. He studied the terms and conditions of his policy and found some small print which wasn't clear in its meaning (can't remember exactly what it was) but he fought his case and got a full payout from the insurers and claimed for items in his boot!.

Warm water for me outside the garage.
Suprised at the number of people letting the engine
take its time to warm up. Thought most would know
better.

Well against the trend so far, I scrape the whole wiper area whilst engine warms up.

Mind you have never had to scrape the S2000 as she is a garage queen, apart from one morning this October in Provence when we were surprised by a frost! I have though been caught out after leaving the garage, when about 100 yds down the road the clear garage warm windscreen mists over & freezes up.. so have to wait whilst defrosts from engine heat.

My car is always nice and ready for me when I leave the house (husband leaves 10 mins before me)

Well, Darling's on about rescuing collapsing banks now, so there's a new moral hazard. They can lend even more recklessly in future.

Warming my car up like that, I always find it's a good time to drink coffee in study, whilst cleaning guns. Ooh, mortal hazard!

I'm having a feature installed to my alarm system that allows me to start the car remotely with the alarm and the immobiliser still functioning! Clifford 650 Mk2 de-icer strips your wax which at this time of year is important .

I also park my car in the car port which is enough to stop icing . So basically I'm sorted Wife isn't though she covers the car in warm water.
