DB9 Driving Experence
Following on from the other thread I got back from my Aston experience earlier today, I'm some what disappointed by it all to be honest, don't get me wrong I enjoyed it but it just lacked any thrill.
I got there and filled in the indemnity form, ticked the no I don't want to pay an extra

On the one hand, the cars are so absurdly expensive, it seems quite cheap. Which is probably why it's no good.
OTOH, a day with my S2000 on an airfield probably costs the same, there's no miserable git telling me NOT to thrash it within an inch of its existence, it's probably a better car for doing that in, the only lap limiter is me and the car getting tired. Anyway, it's not slightly disappointing.
I don't think it's really the cost per se; it's more they're frightened by the car's ability/driver's likely absence of talent ratio.
In which case, don't offer track days in such useless cars, or be more selective in the vetting procedure.

Just either test drive or buy a fast car. Paying a couple of hundred quid to be told when to brake and when to change gear on a castrated circuit layout sound like bags of fun.
These things are never more than a 2 or 3 lap affair from the reports I've read, and are predictably considered a waste of time/money afterwards.
At least the guys who've posted here and on other forums have saved me the cash my family may have otherwise spent on these things.

On the Drivers Dream Day website it says '4-6 laps' of the track. I got 4 predictably. Maybe you get 6 when they're not so booked.....
To be fair to the bloke in the car with me though, he let me thrash the car about.

My entire family are under strict instruction NEVER to buy me any of these things.
Total waste of money IMO.
Either take your own car on a trackday or get an hours tuition at a race school for roughly the same price.

I kind of agree but they will have their uses for some people.
Ie-those that can't afford to drive in exotica, or those that want to drive some/one of their dream cars.
Maybe useless for people like us, and I don't mean that in a "I am considerably richer than yow" way. I just mean that we would not be happy being told when to brake-accelerate and being constricted to 2 or 3 laps.
