Smile Crunch!

Just been down the local bakery and picked up a little more than what I was expecting.

Just parked up when some @!£$% reversed her CRV into my pride and joy and caused a bit of a mess. I was still in the car when it happened and was hard on the horn too.

Didn't get angry at the scene as that doesn't solve anything, but she admitted full liability, I have several independent witnesses and have also taken photographs.

Insurance are sorting out a replacement as we speak, so big thumbs up to CK, and I'll be getting it trucked to Bell and Colvill tomorrow for a quote for the insurance company.

It's been a high and low as yesterday I was at Brands where I pretty much mullered everything in it and was really impressed at what a fantastic car it is on track.

Let's hope it's all sorted by Mid October as I have already booked Castle Combe.

Just make sure she doesn't change her story and a new 'witness' appears out of nowhere to back her up.

Happens all too often and the insurance companies usually go 50:50 as they don't feel it's worth their while fighting it on your behalf.

Good luck.

She was very genuine and she also walked into the bakery to chat to them stating that she didn't see me and drove straight into me.

She seemed very decent about it, so let's hope she is as good as her word.

It was also right out front of a Nat West, so I may pop in there later and ask them about CCTV.

That's a bummer

If she has accepted liability then insist on a like for like car as a courtesy car whilst yours is being repaired. It happened to me a when i had my A3, I received an S3 as a courtesy car

Gets you nowhere though, and can actually make it worse.

It's just plastic

Exactly.

Once you've lost it you're no longer thinking straight so it's easy to say something stupid or fail to take down an important piece of detail.

Always worth trying to stay polite even if you're seriously narked.
