I once did 150 leptons in the GT3 on the M3, chasing a McLaren SLR.

Really wasn't very clever and probably would have made the papers!

Who won?

Shame you have a court summons. Me and a mate had a spirited drive home one evening and didnt notice the undercover car following us. Could only pull one of us, so he pulled my mate. Showed him the event recorded from his car. Recording showed 110 leptons at one point. Mate got a stern talking to and was given 3 points and £60 fine. Guess its the mood of the officer at the time. Road condition probably also plays a role in the fine as mentioned earlier.

We all live and learn. Take this as a lesson to pay more attention to the right foot.

Due to being an absolute numpty, last night about 10 I was just leisurely driving into town (didn't even want to go out!) on a flyover, speed limit of 50 and got caught doing 83! Didn't even realise I was giving it the beans until I saw blue lights from an undercover policeman behind me. Due to being more than 45% over the speed limit the policeman couldn't give me on the spot points and fine so has to go to court..... Doh. Now I already have 3 points from speeding a year ago so am very scared I may loose my licence. Anyone got any advice for me? Would be much appreciated as I'm very worried and in a bit of a sulk feeling very stupid.
I'm also in Southampton, Out of interest what flyover?
If it was in Southampton my guess would be the road that goes through Millbrook towards West Quay and Ikea.
That's the only one with flyovers that has a 50 limit that I can think of.

How does a "driving ban" work? I mean do folks really not drive?

You could drive without a valid licence - many do.

But you will be in deep brown doodo if caught (and you won't have any valid insurance)

You should have kept going haha !

Nah in all seriousness mate your unlucky that they didnt just slap you on the wrist and deal at the side of the road / give you 3 points...

I got caught doing 50 in a 30 before and got a summons to court... like an absolute IDIOT i pleaded guilty by post... which basically means that they give you the worst sentence!! I got 6 points and an SP30 £500 fine... this was my first driving offence in 6 years!!!

Best advice i can give is that you attend court... dress smart (wear a suit) and just act apologetic... Worst case you'll get 6 points and a hefty fine but if your lucky they may only give you 3/4 points and an SP50 with a fine...

http://www.drivingban.co.uk/drivingb...calculator.htm can take this but probably inaccurate lol

I had a similar 50 in 30 one, but they first of all the notice stated they'd do it just by points/fine, then changed their minds that I had to attend court once I'd ticked the boxes. Changed their minds back & forth over court date and acted like the typical bunch you'd expect. Realised the crooks had set me up for a fall..

Did the nice polite thing but got the same six points and a bigger fine than the monosyllabic scrote who went in afterwards caught in the same spot doing exactly the same thing.

As if my opinion of the system wasn't low enough beforehand.

I'd probably get a brief next time it happens.
