Car is worth peanuts
I put my Peugeot 206 HDi GTi on eBay and Pistonheads earlier and checked the going rate for private sales. I could not believe how little money these cars are going for! I paid £4700 2 years ago and now they're selling for £1999. I just forked out £2000 for a new turbo and other repairs back in June. I knew I wasn't going to get that back but jeez, you get a lot of car in those HDi's. I doubt many people on here are Pug fans but I genuinely thought they'd keep their value above £3000. After the S2K I think I'm going to stick to cars that have already reached their bottom value.

Losing 1350 quid a year isn't criminal is it?
I think old cars aren't popular and old French cars are like Russian roulette with a chain gun

I still can't believe you sold the Lotus for the 350 ... and then punted that for the 206 - they are nasty unreliable french turds which like to fail professionally! I know this as a mate at work has one which i've spent far more time spannering back to partial life than is reasonable for a 2002 car.

The line is becoming faaar more bluuurrred than it should be.
Some Vages are almost like trad. Citroens; you need to be a gyneacologist with tools from Z O O to repair them and the QC issues are TFM really.
Witness the explodey Pug engines in the early R56 Minis.
As for future M-Bs based upon Reno planks; the end. - I bet the Chinese will rue the day they stopped making Hong Qi limousines...

As it happens i spend a lot of time in France.
On the whole for the French a car is just a means to an end, iow an appliance.
So they are not that interested in that 'reassuring thunk ' when you close the door but they would be rather annoyed if the thing wouldn't work.
Maybe they export all the lemons to les Rosbifs.
