"just drive the car into the first one that gets out of the car and let a jury make their mind up"

that's the kind of robust action required

although in the circumstances described I imagine it would be deemed as excessive force

whereas in my view, anyone who puts on a balaclava, arms themselves with a club and makes a move towards a Police car should know that they risk ,up to and including death

they certainly would in many countries just as civilised as ours

last time I was in a Spain I saw some p*ssed English loudmouth who wouldn't leave a bar beaten senseless by two Spanish Police

top work
Robust action?

See, this is where its crazy in UK.

I spent a lot of the 80's over the water in NI.
During the summer when every swinging dick had an attitude & a skin full of Murphy's they'd all have a marching season & spend ages kicking several shades of the proverbial out of each other.........& us when the chance came.

Buses on fire, cars nicked & torched. Bricks, bottles, you name it they lobbed it & we headed it back. When a riot kicked off we always snuffed it out fast. We had these feck off big Saracen armoured cars called Pigs. We'd bundle into the back of one these. Command given,

'Right driver, straight into the crowd,' & off we'd fly.
We'd hit these feckers at about 30-40mph & there'd be broken legs & bits everywhere. Then we'd get out sharpish & snatch as many as could & give them a good kicking while we through them in the back of the pig.

Easy, job done. If it was good enough for over there, why not here?

Water cannon and baton rounds, they're fine in Central Europe.

God knows why we have to put up with this shite...I expect half of them would want to sue for their beating now via Claims Direct, whilst booking their holiday to Spain courtesy of Ocean Finance.

France looks so appealing....
