I guess the weakness of the pound may have helped things along as well.

Indeed. So long as the bond markets don't get scared, a bit of devaluation's a good thing!

Not quite a replacement for TVR, but the Spykers are bonkersly beautiful, in a retro sort of way.

Strange one that, usually its the otherway round.

Closing factories in this country is as easy as opening supermarkets .

How many thousand cars per month do Spiker make?

I never did find out what happened to Ascari.

Interesting... I wonder which site in Cov they will use?
One of the old Pug places or an old Jag place?

If they plan to be shifted by the end of the year it would need to be some exisiting building rather than a newly built one.

Pug had about 4 sites.
The one at Ryton has been flattened but the factory and Training building towards the middle of Cov got rebuilt into some big offices and more - well half of it did, half is still a flat wasteland.

There was also 1 or 2 other PUG sites which I haven't been near recently that weren't flattened (AFAIK).

I believe it's one of the existing low-volume suppliers on a Coventry industrial estate.

You'd be surprised how much 'cottage motor industry' still designing & manufacturing for JLR, Mini, the little people, etc there still is in Coventry.
