I'm looking for car hire and it seems a bit of a minefield of high excess and silly little costly add ons

I'm flying to Nice, driving over to the north of Italy then back later in the week. Does anyone know of a company that is worth going for?

TBH; whenever I've hired a car I've always gone for the cheapest deal, with no add ons.

If that car is not available when you arrive at the desk, then your'e in for an upgrade, and touch wood, I've never had any accidents/problems/etc (add on's are insurance at the end of the day, so I guess you pay's your money and takes your chances).
