The OEMs are offset 60 but I'm told 45 is about as close as you dare get. 55ish sounds sensible. Thanks guys, I now understand all about wheels!
I shall give Julian a call after xmas and see if I can't get myself some Rotas, his website is a bit annoying as I can't search by size, only by style. Yes Mark I will tell him you sent me, what's the plan with Timeattack then? Did you talk yourself into it?

I sort of understand why the webites like that; certain styles are stocked in certain sizes for specific models, it that makes sense.
I think Rota attacks come in the rightish size?

Still thinking. I won't be committing one way or another until the new year. If I do it will be PJL's car. It'd be rude not to.

Want to buy a different set of wheels for my car but don't understand all this offset guff. Also anyone know a sensible place to buy a used set of 18s that will fit my motor?
Sorry for the basic questions but I'm a bit of a virgin when it comes to alloys!

I quite like 5 and six spoke ones, easy to clean and also makes me think there is more airflow - probably bollocks but I like em!
eSeM had his Mugens PC'd, because the original rough texture was impossible to clean.
Ideally, a wheel ought to have the same number of spokes (or double) as wheelnuts, radiating from those nuts. Theoretically at least, because sometimes more spokes = a lighter wheel!
In order to preserve the FD2's track record, you'd be best sticking as close to the original spec. as possible & going for the lightest wheel possible.

Light, light and light is the key
That is why the Volks etc are expensive
Stick some decent road legal track tyres on them.
Drive to the track on the OEM's then swap them!
