ban cars over 10 years old
The Government comedians/idiots are up to it again,
Apparently there are talks of banning or restricting cars over 10 years old.
link is to the official E-petition
http://petitions.pm.gov.uk/Classic-Cars/#detail
These idiots are meant to represent us not incarcerate us
This does not affect any S2000 owners yet, but it would, in future especially since the S2000 is been tipped to be one of the next collectors classic cars.

Havent you figured it out yet? Humans have no more freedom. Governments shove crap down our throats and we do nothing about it. We should all retaliate any burn them at the stake.
Some of the crap they come up with is beyond logic. I've seen tons of cars over 10 years that are in perfect shape.

Given that it is said, the majority of a cars environmental impact is in it's manufacture (which is why the Green Party cite the Land Rover Defender as a green car, since it runs for 40 years)
This would seem like a bit of a backwards step.
However nothing surprises me anymore. I hear the Japanese are trying to bring back whaling even though there is no demand for the product...

doesn't japan do something like this currently?
Any car older than 3 years is VERY expensive to service/get through the MOT. Its generally cheaper just to buy a brand new car.

Where do the government make a load of money with an older car? They don't. This will be even truer now, with 60+ mpg diesels that in 10 years time still use half the fuel - therefore half the fuel tax - of other cars.
It also forces people to buy new all of the time - so VAT a go-go.
The environmental impact is in the build (I quote Dick Strawbridge from "It's not easy being Green" as my guru on this).
Just another example of the bunch of schmucks sticking it to us

So these "comedians/idiots". Are we talking about the government or all the people that will get all upset and outraged on the basis of what somebody has put in an e-petition?

I'd warrant that my 10 year old 911 is better looked after than a majority of cars on the road today.
Just one more reason to hope that David "Call me Dave" Cameron doesn't it up and let New Labia back in for another term
Mind you, since the green bandwagon is gathering momentum, and if Dave sees a bandwagon he has to jump onto it, New Tories may be just as bad as Bliar et al

My 10 year old Primera is greener than almost all cars on the road. Literally.
