all down to gearing, gearbox and driver then
a) engine not run in
b) linear accelaration meaning it feels slower than it actually is.
I suspect it's a combination of the two. I'll blag another go in 12 months time.

Don't get me wrong, "crap" when talking about a component in an AM is an extremely relative term
Lots of Ford parts.
It does have a ford style key

Gearing is very long I think (is that the right term)? He kept telling me to drive it through the gears like the S.

Gorgeous. The Lotus dealer in Edinburgh also sells Astons so while I was waiting I was told to go and jump in a few and have a look around. I think the V8 Vantage is the best as it's the smallest and lightest, but I still for the life of me can't tell the difference between the 3 of them when seen separately and have no idea why you'd buy one over the other.

the DB9 is a large car
too big to enjoy driving on anything other than wide empty roads imo
it also has the whiff of the golf club twat all over it
the V8 is far more of a sports car imo
and from moggy's description
fast enough

Different cars aimed at different market sectors - but all recognisably Aston Martin.

Given the choice, visually I'd opt for the Vanquish tbh. Certainly over the DB9.
I would have to drive that and the Vantage before making any decision between them though.
Oh to have such a dilemma

They had a Pearl White one at MotorExpo which was gorgeous, but I think I prefer the black.
Probably the only Aston I would buy, given the means.... at least before I'm 50
