It doesn't actually say what happened, it does quite a good job of implying the police were at fault but with nothing to back it up.
Why's that?
Why's that?
but pending the enquiry/court case, I'll bet they were at fault - they drive like twats most of the time ime
advanced drivers my arse!
the only officials who are worse, are drivers of fire engines
but both are guilty of causing too many unnecessary deaths every year

Maybe, I haven't seen much evidence of them driving like twats but that could be due to the fact that I'm not really out on the roads much.
I wasn't so much sticking up for the police, I just hate that sort of reporting. They just get a few facts together, leave out any that might add a bit of balance and put them together in the worst possible way.
"When the police cars rounded a bend in broad daylight, the lead car hit the Williams' vehicle"
Why not the Williams' vehicle hit the police car? Why not the two vehicles collided?
The guy who died's son seems to be being unusually understanding about it too.
I'm off to put my tinfoil hat on

On a completely separate note, I was in a 40mph zone on the Winterbourne road in Bristol the other night and a Focus patrol car was tailgating me! He then burned past me on the d/c, no lights flashing, not in a massive hurry... I bet he was just getting back to the station.
It was still a 40 zone. He was doing about 60mph...

It could have easily been on the wrong side of the road.
Not that I'm suggesting it was.

I suppose it will be interesting to discover whether they were testing a speed detection device at the legal limit or above it

Funny how the hacks get everyone "killed in a car crash" and never "died in a car accident"
It's called "typewriter masturbation" in the trade.

(Note that this is in cases where drivers were not speeding, and driving safely at appropriate speed).
