Are all Toyos good?

Depends how much you value your partners life
I would buy her a decent set of tyres ( I am assuming it's a her)

but there is a huge range in price even among well known brands
once you are into the best brands, there is no question about safety - however much you spend
I was simply surprised to see Toyos cheaper than Nankings and Polski-Fiats

This isn't really helping, since Proxes work better at lower profiles, due to the soggy sidewalls; the 45-section 17" were OK on the 'Lude, but I'd not like them at 50 or 55-profile, judging by the Civic.
Actually, highly impressed with the Dunlop Fast Responses at 195/55 15 on the Civic, if that's any help.

I've used T1-R's in the past and have been very impressed with them.
When we bought the wife's Cooper S it was shod with T1-S's and they were shocking in anything other than bone-dry conditions (a bit like gone-off S02's!).

With regards to the Falkens, I've put them on my M3 as a temporary measure. To be replace with some Michelin PS Cups in the summer.
As a road tyre there's nothing whatsoever to complain about. They're rubbish on track, but then again, they were 1/2 the price of a "quality" tyre.

Problem with Toyo's is wear rate IMO.
Great grip etc, but poor wear.
Not always, but you do often get what you pay for, and I would suggest a good mainstream make e.g. Michelin or Dunlop, but standard road versions. Should then provide the necessary braking and wet weather grip which I think is a priority for a standard road car.

There is no such thing any more, Andy. They almost have a different spec according to the paint finish.
And it rather contradicts all the silly idiots with 19" 35-series rubber on what is basically a boring road car.

I had proxies on my old saph cossy (355rwhp), and they were great, loads of feedback, good control and hardly any snap, but never had any of the other toyo range, so probably a useless post????? lol.
Cant see them being that bad,, as long as they are a good all rounder with decent wear???
