Default All new Jaguar F-Type ...

Jaguar are involved with the England cricket team and Graeme Swann has just tweeted the link to this video. I haven't seen any of these on the road so has it even been launched yet?

Looks nice though ...

It's beautiful. Launch is at the Paris motorshow I believe. Very tempting.

Not as lovely as Cullum's first attempt. Got the chop from Ford back in 2000

Gallery here.

Ok looks a bit dated and obviously front is stylistically linked to the then current range.

Actually, I feel the retro Malcolm Sayer look has been done to death, dug up, necrophiled & wants burying again. The new S2000 that ate all the pies does actually look quite fresh.

It's just a bit too wide, too heavy, too expensive. Possibly because talk was of more of a Boxster rival.

Then again, Jagwah probably needed to move closer to Aston, before heading downmarket again into mass-market 3-series-alike products. The modern image still needs a bit of reinforcement.

Really nice car, just a shame I think it's approximately £15k above the right target price. That said, with 4,500 miles on the clock and 12 months under the belt I have no doubt that 15k problem will disappear and you'll be able to buy one at the right price.

Really like them but I hope to hell they're worthy of the F-Type tag.

been having a discussion about these this morning.

58k entry price - and I wouldn't bt against the R being over 80.

What I'm struggling with is where the competition lies.

It's clearly too big and too expensive to be a boxter / z4 / slk rival.

It's not big enough to be a 6 / sl rival - and besides - they have the XK for that.

Which leaves the Cayman - but that is coupe only and is priced at 39-51k.

Are they trying to pitch it at the 911? Surely not.

So what the "F" is it? ...or is that the point...The only thing I can think of is a poor-mans AMv8??

Either way - give it 2 years and they'll be 25k on dealer forecourts if the rest of their range is anything to go by. Then they start becomming interesting.

I loved the ad - two cool blokes, sub 40yrs old, athletic build, full head of hair, wearing aviators, driving on an open road.

The reality - A fifty something fat bald bloke using the phone and stuck in a traffic jam on the M6

Yeah it looks ok (It's massive!!) and, if you want a mistress, I suppose that'll help, but there are no shop windows on a motorway.

I just watched the video pretty cheesy!

Also that's the first time I've seen the rear of the F. Sadly it looks a little chop shop too me, maybe Tata had Leepu and Bernie help out there

Mechanically the car sounds great, double wishbone suspension, quick rack, slip diffs and the eight speed box. Coupled with some pretty incredible engine stats and a predicted entry weight of 1600kg it has the potential to be a great drive.

Have to say that it looks like a stunning car. The price will worry some people, but I suspect I won't be one of them.
