He might not be so big as mug as first seems. 30,000 man hours - you have to be joking. You can make a "best" English shotgun with about 1,000 man hours so I can't believe it took 30x that to produce that car. Could be operating on the Josef Goebbels theory that "the bigger the lie the bigger the truth" - might appeal to oil rich Arabs anyway.

It does not just apply to cars.
I have just watched the Hilary Devey story on I-PLayer.
OTT Plastic surgery and house decorating and a complete and utter lack of dress sense or taste.
She is however an extremely hard working multi millionairess and probably couldn't give a stuff.

With some, spending it is the addiction.
Obviously, you soon run out of stuff you need & the law of diminishing returns means you just have to buy ever more tasteless shit for the attention/gratification it brings. And someone else's law (I've forgotten) means the gratification decreases each time too.
Clearly, you cannot take it with you and they'll monetise it all into worthlessness in the meantime, so it's finding a sensible balance that's tricky.
