The Z06 has more performance than I'd ever need, so I'd take that +$30K cash &/or less debt. Besides, I prefer N/A engines, and don't want the stigma of driving a gas guzzler in this day and age.

it's gonna be just like the Z06...nothing can touch it for the money.
Except a Honda Fit maybe.

stigma? you mean like how the public views you? you think the public can tell the diff between a Z06 and ZR1? You lost me on this one.

$200K for the ZR-1 being sold by the other guy on here is sounding pretty steep, just as we imagined.

It will be interesting to see what kind of markup is on them to start, though.

When the Ford GT came out weren't they being marked up $100k or more? Even now that they are being sold as used cars I don't think you can buy them for MSRP yet.

For my money I'd take a Z06 new or GT3 Porsche, probably used.

I've heard a few have sold at 200k. Crazy as it may sound.

It's ZR1. The 1990 through 1995 model was ZR-1. This new one is ZR1 without the hyphen.

Anyway, can't wait for the comparo between the GT2, ZR1, GT-R V Spec, and a few other supercars. Damn, that's going to be sweet.

Nothing like having a car that could easily be a daily driver (especially with that comfy magnetic suspension) trapping 130+ in the 1/4 mile.

They dropped, but never to MSRP and now are going up again.

The Ford GT has a massive history behind it, though, going back quite a ways. It's a car that was in production and then stopped completely. Very rare and very collectible, with a strong racing heritage.

The Vette has been around a while (in continued production) and while many are still quite collectible, the ZR1 has no real "heritage" like the Ford GT (40) to boost its image and price. It's "just a big Vette" that harks back to the ZR-1 (another "big" Vette), while the Ford GT is a very limited production modern replica of a successful and iconic race car.

I don't doubt the ZR1 will have a markup to start but I don't think it will sustain it as the Ford GT has.
